‘Nuvvila…’ is a ballad of tender emotions, told with lilting music and mesmerising lyrics. The composing of the music for this film started about six months prior to the actual filming of the motion picture. The music director Shekar Chandra had to work on an unusual brief. Generally songs in Telugu motion pictures are cutaways, whereby songs can be shot independently of the film and can be patched into the final reels. Quite contrarily for ‘Nuvvila’ the music director and the lyric writer Bhaskarabhatla,  had an unusual task set before them. They were told that the songs would not be cutaways and that each bit and full song had to narrate a certain part of the story. So a complete understanding of the emotional requirement of characters and relationships was required of both of them. Together they set about on this daunting task with nothing more than a blank piece of paper and an equally blank mind between them. After nearly six agonising and frustrating months together, they produced music and lyrics that are nothing short of being marvellous, and then the songs went into recording.

Songs have taken up a large portion of the background score for this film. This has in effect made the filming of a sizeable portion of this film relatively easier in the sense that, like in advertising,  principal emotions and sub-plots could be filmed and narrated with relative ease and could effortlessly be fit into pre-determined time frames. This approach of fixing the music of the film before the shoot, helped us plan our shots and scenes better.
